Before you begin,
I built SYNQ as part of Google Startup School, where I learned an AI-first design approach. Now, I'm building this end to end. Learning more about the condition and tinkering with Rive to add delight. (Live prototype is v1.0.0)
Overview
At 17, my friend was diagnosed with PMOS and left completely confused. She bounced between doctors, got generic advice, and spiraled into anxiety all while searching Reddit for answers she couldn't find. She's one of 170 million women globally affected by PMOS. 1 in 5 Indian women have it. And 50% of cases go undiagnosed.
What is PMOS?
PMOS stands for polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome. Basically, it's when your hormones and metabolism get tangled up, leading to irregular cycles, insulin resistance, acne, and weight swings.
Honestly, I didn't get it either until I started digging into my friend's experience.
Where this began?
This prototype emerged from Google Startup School, hosted by Scalar, where the challenge was to move from idea to prototype using Google AI tools. I chose PMOS because my friend's struggle revealed a genuine gap.
Pre-2024, an AI that reads labs and builds personal plans wasn't possible with accuracy. Now it is, and that timing is what made this worth building.
Research before building..
My friend told me her story. But people don't always say what they need, they show you through what they actually do.
Challenges
Three different failures, one outcome: people left to manage a complex condition alone.
The question I kept coming back to!
Every pain point pointed to the same gap—confusion, delay, and no single place to turn. So I kept asking myself one question:
💭
Target Users
Women aged 18 to 35 who are newly diagnosed with PMOS or managing the condition without specialist support, primarily in emerging markets like India.

Prioritisation Matrix
Every decision came down to need, feasibility & trust
Meet SYNQ.
SYNQ is an AI health OS that helps women manage PMOS with clarity, structure, and privacy.
Ingraning Privacy & Safety
People won't share something as personal as their health data with an app they don't trust. So trust and privacy are ingrained in the app.
AI Copilot, 24/7 ally
SYNQ Copilot comes with full context on your labs and symptoms already
The Trade-off
A 5 step onboarding above is a lot to ask before someone's even seen the app. But to avoid generic advice it's essential. Because AI is only good as it's context.
Personalised Plan
More information wasn't the fix: direction was. So a personalised 12-week plan replaces confusion to clarity.
Discussion Guide
Every unclear doctor visit costs weeks waiting for the next one. So a doctor discussion guide preps you with the right questions.

What's Next?
Building this taught me PMOS is more tangled.
And next is making SYNQ feel less clinical and more human: a Duolingo-style companion, built with Rive, that adapts to how someone's actually feeling. Because the real unlock isn't smarter AI. It's trust people actually feel.
TL;DR?
Solo Founder & Designer - building SYNQ from scratch, end to end.
